It’s just past Memorial Day and already social media is filled with pictures of others at the lake with a cocktail in hand. You stare at your screen with envy wishing that you could be in their place. What’s the solution? Start planning a trip for yourself! Whether it’s a long weekend or a 7-day stay, Camden on the Lake Resort is the perfect getaway.
Lake of the Ozarks exceeds its reputation of having something to do for everyone. Usually when you take a vacation it’s hard to keep everyone happy but at the Ozarks it’s incredibly easy. If the men want to they can have their fun while the girls lounge at the pool relaxing in the sun. Or you can stay active with the whole group and get together for some jet skiing, pontooning or zooming around in a speedboat.
If you’re staying with us there is plenty to do at the resort from pool parties and live entertainment at H.Toad’s to our shopping at Toad Cove Market and Toad Cove Boutique, relaxing at Studio 54 an Aveda spa, golf and boat rental options. Whatever lake vacation you prefer we have an activity to suit your needs. Imagine waking up in one of our lake view rooms and then heading down to grab some gourmet coffee from the Coffee & Espresso bar to discuss the day’s activities. Those who love to party can head to our Day Club where your favorite tunes are playing, with a pool deck for dancing and a swim up bar. Let the party continue into the night with live entertainment at H.Toad’s and on the outdoor stage at Frog Waterfront Bar & Grill. And for those that prefer water adventure, our lake front resort makes it easy to rent whichever water vehicle you please. There is always a party at H.Toad’s so be sure to check out our summer entertainment calendar with live music Wednesday thru Saturday.
In addition to activities at the resort there is plenty to do outside of it as well. If you love to hike and explore your surroundings head to Ha Ha Tonka State Park which includes more than 15 miles of varied trails and striking ruins of an early 20thcentury castle. And don’t forget Lake of the Ozarks State Park! With sandy beaches, 12 hiking trails, horseback riding, boat rentals and lantern-lit tours of the Ozark Caverns there is plenty to explore. If you love to fish learn the ins and outs of the lake with a professional guide from First Mate Fishing Guide Service. These friendly guides will teach newbies how to bait up and also show the more experienced the best spots to catch on the lake. Lastly if you’re into history there is a place for that too! Stop by the Willmore Lodge, Lake Ozark’s historic visitor center, to grab maps, brochures and explore the museum exhibits highlighting Bagnell Dam’s construction.
Overall you won’t be bored on a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks. No matter what your vacation preference the Lake is sure to have an activity for you. It’s the perfect place for a weekend getaway to hang out with friends and make new ones. If you love crowds we’ve got you covered Wednesday through Saturday and if you hate them there’s plenty of open space on the lake to find solitude Sunday through Tuesday.
